COURSE CONTENT

Cell membrane, transport systems by the membrane. Cytoskeleton, cell adhesion. Nucleus: nuclear envelope, nucleolus, chromatin, chromosomes. Cell cycle. Mitosis and meiosis. Endoplasmic reticulate. The Golgi apparatus. Mitochondria.
Epithelial tissues, extracellular matrix, connective tissue. Adipose, cartilaginous and bony tissue. Blood. Muscle, skeletal, cardiac and smooth tissue. Integumental apparatus.
Chest and pelvis, base and cranial vault.
Large and small circulation. Heart. Structure of arteries, capillaries and veins. Aorta and its main branches. Vena cava upper and lower. Vena Porta.
Thymus. Spleen, lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels.
Nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, lungs, broncus, alveolus, diaphragm.
Oral cavity, tongue, esophagus. Peritoneum, stomach, small intestine, large intestine. Liver, extrahepatic biliary ducts. Pancreas, hypophysis, thyroid, adrenal glands, ovaries. Kidneys.
Neuron, neuroglia. Spinal marrow, bulb, bridge, mesencephalon, the cerebellum. Diencephalon, telencephalon, somatic and visceral systems, spinal nerves, cranial nerves.

 

LEARNING OUTCOME

The course aims to provide a set of observations interlocked in order to understand the relationships between morphology and function. The plan of the course includes the study of the human body in the cell, tissue, organ and recorder.
